The "Immersive Vatican" show is an upcoming immersive experience that surrounds visitors with imagery of ancient Rome's battles, architecture, Vatican City artwork, and religious elements. The goal was to create a unique UX design for the show's website that would sell tickets, excite potential visitors, and inform them about the show.
The journey began with an in-depth research phase. We analyzed user behavior, studied industry trends, and reviewed competitor websites such as Beyond King Tut and Perception Las Vegas. This research was crucial in understanding what would captivate our audience and how to differentiate the "Immersive Vatican" show from other immersive experiences. We documented all project requirements and objectives, ensuring a clear roadmap for the design process.
With a solid foundation of research, we moved on to creating wireframes. These wireframes served as the blueprint for the website, outlining the structure and layout. We focused on a user-centric approach, ensuring that the design would be intuitive and engaging. The wireframes were iterated upon based on feedback from Kyle Christian and Michelle Goldberg, refining the layout to better meet user needs and project goals.
The next step was to bring the wireframes to life with a visually appealing and functional design. The challenge was to create a unique UX design that did not simply re-skin previous projects like Monet, Frida, or Van Gogh. We aimed to capture the essence of the "Immersive Vatican" show, incorporating elements that reflected the grandeur of ancient Rome and the Vatican. The design was made responsive to ensure a seamless experience across all devices.
One of the main challenges was balancing the need for a unique design with the client's preference for a UX that could support future shows. Additionally, integrating the diverse elements of ancient Rome, Vatican artwork, and religious imagery without making the show appear solely religious was a delicate task. Ensuring the design was adaptable for various cities and their specific pages added another layer of complexity.
To address these challenges, we adopted a collaborative approach, continuously gathering feedback from stakeholders and conducting usability tests. This iterative process allowed us to refine the design, ensuring it met both user expectations and client requirements. We also leveraged responsive design techniques to maintain a consistent user experience across different devices and screen sizes.
The final design was a polished, engaging website that effectively communicated the "Immersive Vatican" show's unique experience. The website featured an intuitive layout, captivating visuals, and clear information about the show, successfully meeting the main objectives of selling tickets, exciting potential visitors, and informing them about the show. The design was well-received by the client and set a strong foundation for future shows.
The "Immersive Vatican" website UX design project was a testament to the power of thorough research, effective collaboration, and iterative design. Working with Kyle Christian and Michelle Goldberg from Virgen, we created a user-friendly and engaging platform that not only met but exceeded the client's expectations. This project highlighted the importance of balancing unique design elements with brand consistency and adaptability for future projects.
